HTML and LiveTopic Include Tags.
LiveTopic allows users to post simple HTML and LiveTopic Include tags in their messages. Bold, Italics, Underline, Images, URLs, Font Color, Font Sizing, Quote, and Lists can be inserted by using simple markup (such as [B] for bold) in posts. LiveTopic's intuitive text parser allows for use of HTML and Include Tags without the security risks of other systems. HTML and LiveTopic Include Tags can be disabled on a per forum basis by the Administrator.
Text Editing Features.
LiveTopic offers a useful Text Editing bar when posting. This bar allows often used tags such as Image, Web Link, and Bold to be dynamically added to a post while it is being composed. For example, if a user clicks the Bold image, the currently selected text is automatically bolded -- just as in standard word processing software.
Printable Version.
With a single click, a printable version of a topic can be viewed. In the printable version, no HTML tables are displayed to lessen ink usage when printing.
Wireless.
LiveTopic is WAP enabled. Your discussion board can be read via WAP enabled devices such as Cellular Telephones and Palm Sized Computers. LiveTopic auto-detects the client browser (Wireless/Non-Wireless), and generates the proper output. The administrator can enable and disable wireless access, and configure the layout and sizing of wireless generated pages.
Avatars.
LiveTopic provides a facility for users to select or provide images (called Avatars) to represent their personalities or interests. The administrator may provide a set of pre-defined avatars for users to select from, or users may upload their own avatars from their own computers via a web browser. The avatar images are stored on the LiveTopic server for speed, and are dynamically scaled to a preset size and verified for validity. Special sets of avatars can be defined for normal users, moderators, and administrators to visually delineate special users or access levels.
Registration.
The post icon system allows users to post graphical 'Emoticons' in their posts. Administrators can provide a list of emoticon symbols (such as ':-)'), and a list of URLs to the corresponding graphical replacements. Symbols are dynamically converted to their image counterparts when posting. In addition, icons can be associated with individual threads to reflect the purpose of a topic.
File Attachments.
LiveTopic allows users to attach files to their posts. Enable your users to share data and multimedia files via your discussion board. File attachment permissions can be restricted by access level, forum, and file size to discourage abuse.
