Profile Fields.
LiveTopic allows users to define many useful profile fields. For example, signatures are user defined quotes that are dynamically appended to the bottom of every post made by a given user. LiveTopic also allows users to provide a Personal Bio to describe themselves or their interests. In addition, LiveTopic allows for up to 5 administrator defined profile fields. Want to track some site specific piece of information about your members (such as Occupation)? LiveTopic gives you the flexibility. The administrator may also define which profile fields are required.
Profile View.
LiveTopic offers an extended user profile view feature. Users can view the profiles of other members to find out more information about them, including their full name, location, email address, and access level. Email addresses can be hidden on a per user basis: If your users are concerned about receiving 'spam' messages, their address will not be available to other members.
Profile Options.
Users can personalize their experience at your message board. Options such as preferred font sizing, time zone, Instant Messaging preferences, security options, et cetera can be specified to tailor the functionality of the system to each site user.
Forgotten Password Retrieval.
LiveTopic provides a secure and logical forgotten password retrieval system. Users provide a 'Secret Question/Answer' pair upon registration. When they forget their password, they may answer this secret question and their password will be reset to a randomly generated password. This password is sent to them via email. This is different than other message systems, which email their current password to their email address where it may be intercepted.
Integrated Help System.
LiveTopic provides an integrated and completely customizable help system. Your users will never have another unanswered question regarding the discussion board. New help topics can be added and edited by an administrator, and administrators can configure the look and feel of all help pages.
Time and Date Features.
Your discussion board date and time can be displayed in any time zone. In addition, users can select a personalized time zone for their location, and all dates and times will appear relative to their local time. Furthermore, Date and Time formatting can be customized by the administrator to display site timestamps in the most readable format.
