Moderating your community and is something that comes with the territory but it should not be a full time job. ZeroForum has been built to help automate as much of this as possible to make your life easier.
Moderation.
Moderators are users with special permissions to edit and remove site content. Moderators facilitate on-topic discussion and intervene when trouble arises. ZeroForum allows for any number of moderators, and a moderator can moderate any number of forums. In addition, Global Moderators who moderate all forums can be created. Moderators have the ability to edit an delete messages, move and edit topics, and re-configure polls and poll choices. A comprehensive moderator permission system is also incorporated into ZeroForum. Individual moderators can be given special privileges to view user IP addresses, modify user ratings, create forum announcements, edit forum settings, ban/unban users, edit/delete users, and ban email/IP addresses. With these options, you can create moderators who have semi-Administrator access, while you still retain ultimate control of the discussion board.

Censor System.
ZeroForum allows the administrator to provide a list of censored words, and their replacements. These words will be replaced in post text and thread titles. In addition, these words cannot be included in a username or full name. The censor system makes it easy to ensure that profanity and other undesired content are not allowed on the site.

Report Post to a Moderator.
This option allows users to notify a moderator when they think a post is unacceptable or off topic. The first available moderator will receive an instant message notifying them of the trouble post, and prompt action can be taken.

Security System.
ZeroForum offers a powerful security restriction system. Multiple Login Attempt Failure Detection can restrict access to IP addresses that fail authentication repeatedly within a certain period of time. This lessens the chances of an unauthorized user 'guessing' the password of another user through trial and error. IP View Restrictions allow the administrator to ban IP addresses from viewing the site altogether. IP Login and Email restrictions are also available, which prevent user logins from specific IP addresses and signups from particular email addresses, respectively.

Flood Protection System.
The flood protection system prevents abusive users from posting an excessive number of posts to the discussion board. When enabled, users must wait a certain period of time between posts. Also, this feature inherently lowers the number of accidental 'double posts'.

User Rating System.
The user rating system exists as a means for Moderators and Administrators to punish users who post off-topic or unsuitable content. A member's user rating begins at 100% and points may be subtracted by Moderators and Administrators. When editing and deleting posts and threads, an Administrator/Moderator may opt to 'Remove rating points' from this user. Users can therefore get a feel for the validity of the content posted by the rated user.
