Instant Messaging.
ZeroForum's robust and user-friendly instant messaging system allows your users to send private messages to one another in real time. The instant message interface is similar to systems such as AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ, with added functionality. Instant Messages are queued by ZeroForum for a configurable length of time; if a user has been away from the site, they will receive all of their messages upon logging in. In addition, an Instant Message History feature is included: users can view all conversations that they have had in the past.
Member List.
ZeroForum offers a powerful and intelligent search engine for message content. Unlike other message board products, the ZeroForum full-text search engine can instantly search against tens of millions of messages -- while retaining site speed. This is the level of scalability necessary for large community discussion sites.
Announcements.
Announcements allow Administrators and Moderators to alert users of important information. Global Announcements (announcements that appear in all forums) and per-forum Announcements can be created. Per-forum announcements are especially useful for creating a 'Forum Rules' or 'Forum FAQ' list for your users. In addition, Moderators can create announcements on the forums they moderate (if they have permission).
Registration.
ZeroForum allows for user registration in addition to guest/anonymous users. Registration allows users to customize their message board experience, while discouraging abuse. ZeroForum can optionally verify signup email addresses, to further discourage the registration of trouble users. The site administrator can also enable Administrator User Approval, which requires that all new users be approved by the administrator before they can access the site.
